Snow, Snow and More Snow

The combination of 8 inches of snow and 3 inches of ice is what we have been dealing with this week. The kids are happy for no school but at the same time are bored out of their minds and want to go back to school just to be able to see their friends and to have a change of scenery. Its not even good playing snow because it sure doesn't feel good to get whopped up side the head with an ice ball and the snow is more icy then the normal snow so its not snowman snow either. Aiden and I were able to sled down the driveway because of it being a sheet of ice...LOL.

Aiden has some serious cabin fever since last week I had a stomach virus and this week we have all this crud so I guess we are going to attempt to head out today to grab lunch or just to drive around and sight see.

Sorry I haven't kept my word and blogged regularly like I said I would, but to be honest with you there really hasn't been anything going on to blog about. We have been staying in the house due to the cold weather and we haven't had to many picture opportunites. Does anybody out there have that disorder called seasonal disorder where the cold, dreary days really get you down in the dump? I am starting to think I have this because when its like this I just stay in a funk and don't want to do ANYTHING....I just want to curl up on the couch, under a blanket, and read or stare at the wall....LOL.

While reading email earlier I thought I would look at some pictures that had been downloaded a few weeks back when the weather was WARM. Aiden and daddy went to the waterfront to play and try out daddy's new camera that he got for Christmas. I think I must of been out with the girls because I can't remember why I didn't go. It looks like they had a good time.

Sorry to be MIA for so long but there has been alot going on here since Christmas(loss of a family member). We decided to be extra safe this New Years and pack up the kiddos and friends and head to Great Wolf Lodge for their New Year's bash. It was quite pricey but at least we didn't have to worry about the kids out and about. The kids had a blast with all the lodge offered and me and hubby felt comfortable with letting them freely roam around as long as they were hanging all together or with their friend that had come along with them.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families. We spent Christmas Eve with mommy's parents and her brother's family and then on Christmas day we did our yearly lunch at the Chinese restaurant and then went to Uncle Ben's house for dinner and to hang out.

I got LOTS of things this year that mommy isn't looking forward to putting away. A few of my favorites were my New Balance Elmo tennis shoes that Kelsey and Dominique got me, my dance cam, and my racetracks. Clara's favorite was her new "purple" ipod that she has wanted for I dont' know how long. Mommy was so glad to finally have Clara quiet over wanting this ipod. Felecia's favorite was her laptop computer and Kelsey's was her black pub table and chairs she had wanted for her kitchen. I am guessing mommy and daddy had a favorite gift too but nothing that would be a favorite to me since it doesn't have a million pieces to lose.

It is so hard for me to believe that my little guy is already 3 years old. I look back at when we got his referral on that cold Christmas Eve in 2005 and its just hard to believe that he has grown to be 3 already...where did the time go?

He had a very busy day with school, lunch with friends, dinner with family and opening gifts. He was so excited when I picked him up from school yesterday because they sang happy birthday to him. We auntie Kelly and Harper for lunch and hung out for a while and then we came home and waited for the girls and daddy to get home from school and work (Kels was also at work), so that we could go out and enjoy Aiden's birthday dinner and come home and eat cake and icecream and open Aiden's gifts. OHHHH, my mommy and daddy even went to dinner with us.

I have to say that at 11, the time Aiden was born that I had this sudden feeling of happiness and sadness come over me. Happy that I am so blessed to be this precious babys mommy and sad because I wondered if Aiden's birthmom was thinking of him at that moment too. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart Angelica for this precious, beautiful gift that you have given us the privilege of raising and being in our lives. I hope you know that not a day goes by that we aren't forever greatful for and love him so much.

Missing my friends and family...BLAH!!!

Not sure if its just being stuck in the house and not getting out as much because of it being cold, the holiday season when your suppossed to be with loved ones or what the heck it is, but I am really missing my friends and family lately. The holidays are suppossed to be a fun and joyous time but without these people it just doesn't seem that way this year.

In the past, holidays were spent with family and I have had the three grandparents I have lost on my mind alot lately. I used to spend Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family and I have lost both her mother and father. I lost my granny when Kelsey was 6 months old and my grandpa in 2001....these are the grandparents I was close to and until their passing we would see them every weekend. I sooo wish my grandma would of gotten to meet Clara and Aiden and that my grandpa would of gotten to see Aiden. They would of loved them sooo much and my grandfather would of taught my children so much about the ways of the world. Christmas Eve just isn't the same...something is definitely missing.

I lost my dad's mom in 1995 to pancreatic cancer and in a sense have also lost my grandpa on this side of the family too. He has alzeheimer's and doesn't even know his own children, much less his grandchildren and great grandchildren. We used to spend Christmas day with dad's side of the family and since my grandma passed away we rarely see that side of the family. I guess it was grandma that held the family together and my dad and his siblings just aren't close. I still try to do my part and invite them for get togethers and send them holiday cards but it seems as if they are all in their own world and we just don't see or hear from them.

I really, really miss my mom. She used to be the type that was never home and always had something to do and now she does nothing and never leaves the house. Over the pass few years she has had many surgeries on her knees and ankles and refused to do the exercises the physical therapist wanted her to do at home because they "hurt"...so now she is unable to walk without support and basically has given up and does nothing at all but sit at home and watch TV. She doesn't even come to the kids birthday get togethers anymore. I want my mom back. I wanna be able to call her and go shopping with her, go to lunch with her and just call and have a normal conversation with her about something other then her hurts. I pray that she has enough energy to join my brother and our families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Can I say it again? I WANT MY MOM BACK.

I miss spending time with and talking with my friends as much as I used to. I have friends that I see on a weekly basis and I thank God for them and then I also have some friends that I haven't seen in a year or more and I miss seeing them and talking with them about daily things. I wanna be able to call and say meet me at Target and while we shop we can drink our Starbucks. I wanna know whats going on with their lives like I used to when we were close. How they are and their kiddos. I want to be able to support them in things going on in their lives, to cry and laugh with them. Friend's are what makes my world go round.

I know I have said it over and over but I miss "my" Kelsey. I am VERY proud of her for attempting to move away and go to school and for having the courage to admit it wasn't the right thing, and I am very proud of her for moving back home and getting her own place, a full time job and going back to school when the next semester starts back up BUT, I miss seeing her beautiful, smiling face every day. I miss going in her room and waking her up in the morning and telling her good night......text messages just aren't the same. I miss my oldest baby.

Sorry for rambling BUT, my friends and family are what is important to my life and I miss those of you that I don't see anymore or often enough.

The past few days were quite busy this weekend. We spent time with a family and friends at different gatherings but at the last minute today we decided to head over to Boo at the Zoo with our friends Tony, Tara and Cruz. Poor Aiden was all out of sorts from missing his nap the past two days from going and going so he was quite the grump at first but once he realized he was going to get candy his whole attitude changed. The theme of the week for FFF this week is "pumpkins" and yes this was actually posted on Wednesday but you guys aren't supposed to notice that...LOL. Since Kels and Dom moved back we have been spending LOTS of time together again as a family and what an AWESOME feeling it is. Now if only I could get her to actually move back home instead of having her own apartment....somebody please tell me why they grow up.

The kiddos have been wanting to carve pumpkins so good ole mom went and bought each of them one to carve and what a blast they all "seemed" to of had...LOL.

Sorry I haven't kept up with blogging since Kels has been home but we have been busy preparing her new apartment for when she finally comes home for good on the 19th. I had a hard time accepting the idea that she wouldn't actually be coming "home" but I can understand her wanting her independence and wanting to stay out on her own like she has the past two months and at least she will only be 10 minutes away instead of 6 hrs...now I just need to get through the next two weeks.

Other then painting, laying new floors and hanging out we haven't had to much time to just sit back and relax since she has been home so we decided tonight after she got back from being with my brother and his family that we would make smores. Hope everyone had a safe and relaxing weekend and all is well in your world. Enjoy.

Again I have been a slacker and haven't blogged but then again we haven't taken many pictures lately and there isn't much news to report on. The past weekend was a pretty relaxing one. We took Aiden to the park and for ice cream on Friday and then on Sunday daddy and Aiden did yardwork and closed the pool. As for Saturday I can't remember what the heck we did...LOL.

OHHHH here's some excitng news for mommy and possibly the rest of the family...LOL. Kels and Dom have decided to move back and not go to school in IL as they had planned. Things seemed to be a little overwhelming for them as far as all the new stuff all at once....paying their own bills, no family around and being together basically 24/7 so they will be coming home the end of Oct. and Kels will resume going to school here at one of the local colleges when the new semester starts back up. I am really proud of her for trying this but I have to say I feel alot better with her being home and out of the area she was living in.

Just thought of something else. We are trying to decide what Aiden will be for Halloween and I have found two cute costumes I am going to attempt to make but not sure which one to make so I need opinions...court jester or ghost?

Happy Friday everyone. I have to admit I too am one of the computer illiterate ones that don't know how to scan pictures so I only have Aiden's baby picture and Kelsey's that I stole from some she had loaded on the computer. Guess who survived the first day of preschool? my little man Aiden. Things were ok until they decided to switch rooms after I had told him goodbye and then he flipped out....his teacher said he only cried for like 15 minutes and once he realized everyone else was having fun and playing he was ok. I on the otherhand had some nice me time. I went to Target ALONE, Walmart ALONE, and then came home and enjoyed my time ALONE until it was time to go get him.

When I picked him up they were out on the playground and when his teacher called his name he came running and said "yeah mommy" and gave me a big kiss. What a nice thing to hear. He melts my heart.

Our conversation when I picked him up:

Mommy: So how did you like your first day?

Aiden: Fun

Mommy: Did you make any new friends?

Aiden: NO

Mommy: Did you play with anyone when you went outside?

Aiden: yes, a boy.

Mommy: What was his name?

Aiden: I don't know(in a very sarcastic tone, like sheesh quit asking me so many questions)

Mommy: What did you have for a snack?

Aiden: apple juice and cereal

Weekend recap

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a pretty busy one. Daddy decided to paint the girl's bedrooms and he also had his company picnic at Holiday World on Sunday. Mommy tried to hang with them and have a good time but to be quite honest was VERY miserable with a very bad sinus infection....she even went to bed before Aiden did all weekend...thank God for daddy watching him for her so she could do this.

Aiden has his first day of preschool tomorrow guys so start praying for him and me that I don't have trouble removing him from my leg when I drop him off. I will fill you guys in tomorrow on how he did.

Hola mi amigos. I am sooo sorry I have been MIA..not like any of you really missed me, LOL. I have to admit having to move Kelsey kind of took a toll on me and I had to adjust to the life change of not having my oldest baby/friend here on a daily basis. Aiden has had a hard time as well and still goes to her room and looks for her and then cries when he realizes she isn't in there...he talks with her just about everyday on the phone though...its funny to listen to their conversations. The other two girls are back in school as well and so we are back to the daily grind of the school year. OHHH we have also decided to put Aiden in preschool two days a week. I am excited and a little apprehensive at the same time as I am not sure how he will do with out me or daddy being in sight. I told my husband that it wouldn't surprise me if I received a phone call before I even left the parking lot to come get my hellion...LOL.

The following pictures were taken yesterday at my aunt's 60th surprise birthday get together with family. It was nice getting to see the family that was in from out of town and just hanging out with everyone. Enjoy the pictures and I hope everyone has a great week.

Gotcha Day and Going Away

Yesterday was Aiden's second Gotcha Day and no I am not sending him away....LOL. We combined his party and also made it into Kelsey's going away party. That was one big party filled with all sorts of emotion. I told Kelsey that the day I move her 6 hrs away on Friday is the day I brought Aiden home 2 yrs ago....I will have my youngest baby for 2 yrs and be moving my oldest baby into a new stage of life....where in the heck does the time go? Not sure what me and Kels were thinking about or even doing in this picture but for some reason we both have the same expression on our faces..LOL. Daddy took Aiden on his first fishing trip today while mommy and Kelsey hung out together(mommy is trying to spend as much time with Kelsey as she can before she leaves). The theme for FFF this week set by Sarah was " Shake Your Groove Thing" and since we only have dancing on the video camera I thought I would post two of my other faves. The first picture is of Kelsey at her and Dom's graduation party with two of their other fellow graduates. I picked this because Kelsey is actually smiling and I haven't seen that smile this week because of her having surgery on her knee. She is doing ok but very sore and of course aggravated because she isn't out doing her typical teenage things. I keep warning her that she has to get better before next Friday because her, Dom and I are off to IL to pick out their apartment they will live in for school....ugghhh...scary. Please no bashing for letting them live together. I figure after 4 years of them being together and with going away to school I wouldn't know what all she was doing anyway so I just have to trust her to make the best decisions regardless of the living arrangements. My baby is growing up and this momma doesn't like it.

Today we spent the day with Aiden's foster brother, Joseph, that he lived with in Guatemala for 8 months. They also live 2 hours from us, and we try and get together a few times a year for the boys to play. We met half way and ate lunch and then took them to a park and to get ice cream. Not much to report on lately. Mommy tried to escape on Saturday for an overnight get away that was her Mother's Day gift and was unable to reach her destination due to tornados and flooding...mommy was a little bummed, to say the least, but was also very relieved to of not encountering any of the bad weather.

The weather here this week has been a scortcher with the temperature being between 90 and 100 all week so we decided after we got done with all our work that we were going to enjoy the pool for a while and then get "moobies" to watch. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Well since Natalie gave me the guilt trip of not updating I guess here goes...LOL. Via email and phone calls I have found that this little guys name is Kevin Estuardo and his birthday is Jan 23, 2007. He lives an hour and a half from us and although he is only actually a half brother, him and Aiden have many similarities. They have the same shaped eyes and nose but Kevin didn't get Aiden's spikey hair...his looks as if it lays down...LOL. I am going to ask his mom if she minds if we post a picture so you all can see what this gorgeous little guy looks like.

GUESS WHAT? we are actually getting together with Kevin and his family on June 1st for the boys to meet and get to know each other and we have promised to keep in contact and see each other as much as we can. We are so excited and as I said before I am very envious of Aiden for getting the opportunity to find a member of his biological family. I pray that they get many opportunities to be with each other and share in the trials and tribulations of their lives.

I am off to email Kevin's mommy now to see if I can post his picture.

I get up this morning and check my emails like I do usually first off in the morning and I had received an email from a lady saying she thinks that her son is Aiden's brother....my jaw dropped. They only live approx 2 hrs from us...is that not the neatest thing. As we email more back and forth things are starting to match up. Being adopted myself and having little to no info and no way of finding out if I have any birth siblings, made me cry my eyes out with excitement for Aiden...is that not just the best way to start the day?

Well scatter brained mom remembered the camera but didn't remember to charge the batteries beforehand so we only got a few pictures. Clara and her friend's seemed to of had a great time being the typical goofy teenagers. I picked them up from school and they hung around the house until later in the afternoon when we went to dinner...of all places they picked Golden Corral. We then headed to the hotel where good ole mom had reserved two rooms that adjoined so that I could have at least a little peace and quiet when we were in the rooms. The girls swam for a few hours and then came and got showers and headed to the game room where they ran into of all things....boys that were staying at the same hotel for an archery club gathering. They did come back to the room at the time I told them and stayed up until 1:30 eating junk food mom had brought and playing games and cards.

I will tell you that when I went in to check on them I was very glad that I had chosen to have it at the hotel because their room literally looked like a tornado had hit it with all their clothes and things EVERYWHERE. I had forewarned them when we got to the hotel that before we could leave the next morning that all had to be picked up and the room had to look as it did when we got there...wish I would of taken before and after pictures...lol. Well anyway enjoy the pictures we were able to take.

Another teenager in the house

Today my youngest daughter Clara turns 13 and its breaking my heart. It seems like just yesterday she was out playing in the mud and playing with her dolls and now she is chatting on the phone with her friends and putting on makeup and curling her hair. We celebrated last night with her picking out where she wanted to go out to eat with the family and then Friday night she has chosen to have some friends celebrate with her and mom has gotten two hotel rooms and they will swim and hang out together. We spent Saturday with a few of the families we were in Guatemala with on our pick up trip and some of the others that we have asked to join us. Shelley, Rick and Chase have a new addition to their family, Caleb, and Ginger and Steve and Kyra are waiting their exit of PGN to bring Alex home. We get together with this group of friends a few times a year and look forward to the times to come. Enjoy the pictures that we were able to get when not breaking up the little disagreements of "mine" with the kiddos. One of the many attempts to get a picture of

Thank you to all of you that were praying for our nephew Lennon. He seems to be doing really well and actually seems like a much happier baby.

The theme for FFF this week is "Spring has sprung" and we couldn't be more happier for this to of happened. After a rough start to the week with Aiden having croup and double ear infections it was nice to finally be able to get out and get some fresh air and enjoy playing.

Tomorrow we are off to play with Aiden's friends that were in Guatemala with him.....YEEAHHHH!!!!.

Aiden is infatuated with bubbles right now. Any-

time we are outside he spends the majority of his

A Night Out On The Town

Yesterday didn't go quite as planned for Kelsey and Dominique's prom but they made the best of it. It was 50 out and raining....hence no pretty outdoor pictures. My beautiful baby getting ready to leave

to get her hair and makeup done.

When she put this on and was

all put together it was as if I

was looking back to my senior

prom. I too wore this color

and my dress was sequined

like hers....not quite

as revealing as hers though...lol.

I do have to say when they drove off I felt

as if a piece of my heart had been ripped out of

my chest....what the heck am I going to do

when she graduates in May and leaves for college

in August?

I got to speak with Kels only breifly when she came in last night. They all came back to the house and changed clothes before going to an after prom party at the school. She was all smiley and they all seemed so happy. I can't wait to see the pictures from the actual prom and hear all the funny stories.

UPDATE on Lennon: Talked with SIL and BIL a few times yesterday and Lennon is doing as expected. He has an incision that curves from the middle of his sternum and down his rib cage around to his back the way I am understanding.....they weren't real sure how many stitches he had but Lisa my SIL said it was ALOT. He was expected to be out of ICU today and moved to a regular room where he will stay until he is dismissed. She also said that the poor baby is in lots of pain and is given pain meds every hour to two hours. The entire time we were on the phone he was crying inconsolably which made me cry so I had to let them go. We hope to be able to visit on Sunday after the chaos of the weekend is over and I will let you guys know how he is doing then. Thanks again for all the prayers guys, they are pretty sure that they got all the tumor and Lennon will be back in full swing soon.

Kelsey's prom is today so all week we have been doing yard work since some of her friends are wanting to take pictures at our house. The kids helped Jody clean the pond out which consisted of them draining it and catching all the fish....it was quite the site watching them chase the fish all around.

The theme for this week is siblings. I have probably posted these before but its a rare occassion that all the kiddos are in a picture together so I chose them again. The first picture is of Aiden's first Christmas home in 2006...he was a year old and soooo tiny compared to now. Where in the heck did my baby go? The second one was taken the night we brought Aiden home and he was eight months in that picture. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

OHHH I have been trying to get ahold of my inlaws to check on Lennon and will update as soon as I know anything. Thanks again for the prayers guys.

Wordless Wednesday and an update

UPDATE on our nephew: Please continue to pray for Lennon and my in-laws today. Lennon will be in surgery for 5 to 6 hours to remove the football sized tumor that is intertwined with his liver. Pray they get all of the tumor removed so he doesn't have to go through this again in a month....we do know that its not cancerous so thats a very good thing and also please pray for fast healing.

Instead of the normal FFF post today I am asking for your prayers for my nephew Lennon. We don't know to much other then a mass was found in his stomach that is entangled in many of his organs. Other then having a very abnormally large belly for his age, he is 10 months, he seems to not be in any pain. The doctors said regardless of if its cancer or not they will still have to do some type of chemotherapy to hopefully get rid of or shrink the mass.

Lennon is the first child for my brother and sister in-law and they are having a hard time with this. Any and all prayers for our nephew would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
